Membership Information

Mission:
The mission of this organization is a simple one – Have Fun.

Rules? Why the rules are simple:

(1) Recruit new members – If you enjoy it, invite more folks to join in. The more the merrier!

(2) Finding goals and pursuits that will unify our club and keep things fun. – Sitting around all day doing nothing is boring. Sharing your interests with others can only spread the fun out more.

(3) No Politics - Having no Politics. Getting the notion out that our club doesn’t play politics.

(4) Challenging our members to do things that interest them & the group. – Lets do something different. Community involvement, gaming contests, trying an exotic food maybe? Lets explore and see what is out there!

(5) Have Fun! - The purpose of this club is fun. We are not a paramilitary organization, but a club for the mutual enjoyment of the things our members have in common - an enthusiasm and appreciation for scifi/anime/fantasy/etc in general. The interest of fans is varied and diverse; costuming, language, music, weapons, charities, craft-making, role-playing, cuisine, simple camaraderie, are some of the many areas of interest that members may share. Simply stated, if you're not having a good time, you're not doing it right. We are primarily a social group.

(6) No Live Steel!! [no dangerous weapons near the public.] - Live Steel refers to any unsheathed metal or edged weapon. The unsheathing/wielding of real weapons in public (i.e. outside of your own home or room) is forbidden (except in masquerades, panels and sanctioned displays) and is considered a violation of our rules.
Obey all applicable local weapons rules/laws.
Rule of thumb...when in doubt, DON'T BRING IT OUT!!!

(7) Don't Embarrass Us. - Members should not behave in a manner that dishonors or misrepresents our club. Don't speak on behalf of (or misrepresent) more than your authority. Don't commit crimes while in uniform. (Hey! Just don't commit crimes, period.) Violating the law can result in your membership being terminated.

(8) MAKE NO TREATIES OR ALLIANCES - No member of this group is empowered to sign or verbally commit to any treaty, alliance or contract that could be taken as legally binding on the whole club.

(9) The Captain Makes The Rules !!!!! - This is not a club for rule makers and bureaucratic architects. This rule protects the club from unnecessary bureaucracy and keeps the premise of membership very simple.

(10) Support Local Fandom - That means we work cooperatively with other local fan clubs, groups and cons. The better they do, the better we do, and the better the fan community as a whole becomes.

(And yes, I did borrow the ideas above from several existing organizations. Why? Because they are good sound policies.)
