Toronto Trek
Toronto, Ontario Canada-Web-
Toronto Trek is a weekend long event celebrating all genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy including Television, Movies, Books, Art, and all Related Hobbies. It is Canada’s Largest Annual Science Fiction Event.
Toronto Trek features over 200 hours of programming over the weekend and brings in 2,500-3,000 attendees annually. While most attendees are from the Toronto area and other parts of Canada, some attendees come annually from as far as Japan, Australia, and the UK.
Although the name implies that Toronto Trek is strictly a Star Trek Convention, the event began to branch out to other Science Fiction series twelve years ago, and has to date featured actors from no less than 42 different sci-fi TV series and movies. Actors from various Science Fiction TV series and movies come to Toronto Trek to participate in four different kinds of events: Q/A Sessions, Autograph Signings, Photo Sessions, and a “Dinner With The Stars” Banquet. Other guests of Toronto Trek include several Science Fiction Authors, Scientists, Stunt & Martial Arts Experts, and Make-Up & Costume Designers.
Beyond the Actor-related events, Toronto Trek also features Art Shows, Workshops, Video Presentations, and dozens of Panel Discussions on topics that range from “Star Trek Technology” to “Why We Love Buffy” to “Star Wars And Spirituality”.
Please note: This is a work-in-progress, and things may at times get a little 'sloppy' as I tweak things.

Star Trek Celebration - 20 years of Classic Star Trek, “Relax-a-con” Originally called “Toronto Trek Celebration”, the first Toronto Trek was a relaxacon held 18 years ago in celebration of Star Trek’s 25 th anniversary. The brainchild of local fan Yvonne Penney, the event was an extended party that included cake, videos, spontaneous panels, and an unexpected art auction. Attended by 75 people, the event was considered to be successful enough to plan repeating what had been intended to be a “one shot deal”. |
