We are an independent Science Fiction, Fantasy, Gaming and Anime group.
Focus:
The club is open to any well-behaved fans of science fiction, anime, fantasy and gaming, age 18+. Willingness to dress up in silly suits is optional. We are all here as fans, and all here to have fun. Some of us do costuming, some props, some are artistic, and some like to shoot paintball and play with swords.Dues:
There are no dues at this time. We may split some pizzas, etc when we get together, but there are no monthly dues, organization fees, etc. If you want a laminated ID card, theres a nominal charge to cover supplies. Also, some national affiliations may require membership fees paid to them.Meetings:
Once a month get together and do something ‘fanny’. This may be setting up some board games or RPG's, hooking up a game system to a TV, catching a movie together, bowling, paintball, laser-tag, or hitting a convention.Once a month get together, discuss upcoming events, movies, series and plan activities.
Who can join?
Anyone age 18+ who is a fan and well-mannered can join us. We are a relaxed group, with the idea of “Fun” outweighing things like ‘uniforms’, ‘politics’, and ‘agendas’.Do I have to be a Klingon?
Nope. You can be a Vorlon, a Vampire, an Elf or just someone who likes to hang out and have fun. For those fans of all things Klingon, we are currently affiliated with the Klingon Assault Group and offer rank advancement to our Klingon Members based on KAG standards. We're looking into additional national club affiliations to provide our members with more opportunities for role playing. So, why the Klingon graphics, etc?
The short answer is, because I like Klingon's. :) The longer answer is a long time ago, a friend and I wanted to both run companion BBS's back in the old Commodore 64 days. We even went so far as to buy the software and get everything configured before we realized we just couldn't afford the $1,000 for the 10 meg hard drives needed. (Yes, 10 Meg!) So, the dream lie dormant until now. What do you do?
The short version is, get together and have fun. The longer version is, quite a bit. Our members formally and informally do a wide variety of activities. We have attended conventions in New York, California, Ohio and Ontario, played paintball, lasertag and a wide variety of games, attended movie premiers, taught and participated in theatrical sword fighting seminars, participated in art shows, costume competitions and model shows as well as gaming tournaments and much much more.Who is this "Kaith" guy, and why is he in charge?
